The project of environmental protection is a systematic project involved our descendents, and the whole society should actively participate in the huge project that will “benefit our offspring”. For years, Yulong Paper has always persisted in the principle of “development under control” to take pollution control as “the most important project” of the Enterprise.
Environmental pollution is a problem that long troubles the development of papermaking industry, especially for most domestic factories, the black liquid pollution generated during the preparation of straw pulp is one big problem for environmental control.
In 1998, 15000m3/d mid-section water disposing project that introduced sewage disposing facilities of Sweden PURAC Water Disposing Company was completed on time, with elimination rate of COD and BOD reaching 85%, after being continuously monitored by environmental protection bureau of Shandong Province, it is proven that after disposal, the waste water from papermaking has reached national Grade 2 exhaustion standard. Now, the whole system operates normally, with good effect, exceeding the expected goal.
In order to further implement strategy of sustainable development and all-roundly eliminate pollution, the Company has determined shift of raw material from straw pulp to self-made and commodity wood pulp since 2001, and the products have shifted from low-grade writing paper and offset paper to all-wood pulp high-grade special paper and industrial primary paper, and alkaline recovery project and structure adjustment plan matched with the original mid-section water biochemical system have been started. In July, 2002, we successfully developed light and pure paper with all-wood pulp as raw material. The successful development of the product enables the Company to thoroughly get rid of the pollution caused by straw pulp production, and water usage can be reduced from the current 15000m3/d to 5000m3/d, all-roundly preparing for stop of straw pulp production line at any time, thus truly leaving green water, blue sky and greenery patches for our descendents.
